Week Two:

The Soft Sell Promo Read

What is a soft sell? Not pressuring the customer, showing the product and letting the customer decide.

Example: "I like the soft-sell guys-the ones who let you take a car for a drive and see if you like it."

The idea here is to finesse the copy and soothe the consumer into accepting your pitch and purchasing the product or watching the program you are promoting. A more laid back style usually wins the day when reading soft sell promo spots.
